My Sun Life

Provides you with easy online access to your benefits information and the ability to submit claims online. To sign up you will need to enter your contact number and member ID (which you should receive during your Welcome Meeting with HR). Additionally, My Sun Life offers a mobile app.

Travel Benefits

Out of Country Travel Benefits provides protection in the case of a medical emergency while travelling outside of Ontario. Click here for more information, and to find a printable Travel Card with the information you need in case of an emergency.

Employee & Family Assistance Program

Telus Health, McMaster's EFAP provider, is a professional service that offers counselling, coaching, information and support for a variety of issues relating to: mental health, career, life balance, recovery management, return to work, family support services, and more. All services are strictly confidential. To get started, download the app or visit login.lifeworks.com on a web browser and enter the code "mcmasteruniversity" to access tools on a variety of subjects, from mental health to finances and more.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage is an optional insurance plan which helps to ensure protection for a member and their family in the event of an accident that results in death or serious injury. This insurance provides extra protection in the event of an accident. Tuition Assistance & Benefit Bursary

As a community, McMaster is dedicated to the pursuit of lifelong learning and skills development. Eligible employees qualify for the tuition assistance benefit for themselves, and the tuition bursary for eligible dependents of McMaster University employees. Long-Term Disability and Salary Continuance

The purpose of the Salary Continuance Plan is to provide eligible employees with continuation of salary for periods in which they are unable to work due to illness or disability. This Plan provides short-term income protection when eligible employees are unable to work due to non-occupational illness or injury.

Long-Term Disability is a mandatory benefit that provides income protection for employees who become totally disable and unable to work due to non-work related illness or injuries. Premiums for LTD are paid fully by employees. Refer to your employee benefits book for more details.
