Onboarding New Employees

Onboarding is the process of welcoming, educating, connecting, and integrating new employees into the organization, providing them with the tools, resources and knowledge to be successful and productive members of our Faculty community.  Onboarding begins as soon as the offer of employment is accepted.  An effective onboarding process instills a sense of connection to the organization and creates a drive to contribute.

As a leader, you play a critical role in facilitating the successful integration of new staff and faculty into the FHS community.  Your active and positive involvement in ensuring a successful transition affirms your commitment to the new employee, and helps them quickly become engaged and contributing members of our Faculty.

This section of our Health Sciences New Employee Welcome and our Leader’s Guide to Onboarding is meant to complement, support and enhance what you are already doing for new employees within your department.  You will find an overview of best practices, the FHS onboarding process, and a variety of tools and resources to assist with onboarding your new employees.
